Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is hands-on bodywork applied through light touch. Using gentle rhythmic strokes, a practitioner can promote healthy lymph flow. When functioning properly, the lymphatic system fights viruses and bacteria, and clears old cell debris or toxins from the body; it removes waste.
MLD is for men and women. MLD can be used to address chronic or acute sinusitis and tooth or ear infections. MDL can treat issues of the chest including pneumonia, acute mastitis, and fibrocystic breast tissue. Conditions of the lower body that can be treated using MLD include endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine tumors, as well as swollen feet and ankles. MLD can be used as first aid to address acute bruising, swelling, sprains, or whiplash. MLD is very well established modality practiced in Europe as post-surgery therapy.
Prepare for your mammogram:
For women, MLD is advisable to those who have a tendency for fibrous or cystic breasts. It is advisable to have MLD done at least two weeks prior to a scheduled mammogram. The mammogram will be clear and there will be no suspicious lumps. Client and doctor will be pleased because any biopsies “just to be sure” will not be needed
