Stainless steel needles are the tools of an Acupuncture Physician (A.P.). Like any other tool, the needle is an extension of the hand. With this tool, a doctor can communicate with and obtain information from the patients’ organs and meridians as each point has its own character. Years of training and experience enhance these skills.
Acupuncture uses physical stimulation of points to induce chemical reactions in the body. Chemical reactions regulate and synchronize the hormonal balance within the body. Melatonin can be balanced for insomnia, serotonin and dopamine relate to depression and substance abuse, and estrogen and progesterone can be regulated to help with menopausal symptoms.
Marita has been practicing acupuncture for 30 years. In addition to running her own private practice, she also taught acupuncture for many years at the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida.

Training an acupuncturist involves the skill and art of inserting a needle painlessly. In order to hone this skill a trainee practices needling an apple floating in water without moving the fruit at all.
